According to a report by EY, 66% of the top 50 most valued unicorns in India have integrated AI or GenAI technologies. This rising popularity of GenAI is a result of the benefits that the technology brings with itself, accelerating existing trends in modern applications, APIs, and hybrid cloud environments.

Generative AI significantly enhances modern applications by automating content creation and personalisation, generating tailored marketing content, news articles, and dynamic user interfaces that adapt to individual preferences. ITDMs and CIOs must address these challenges to ensure their infrastructure is GenAI-ready. Some of the ways in which they can build a strong foundation for GenAI are:
- Multi-layered security approach: Businesses must implement a multi-layered security approach, including robust authentication and authorisation protocols to protect GenAI systems. This will ensure only authorised access, proactive vulnerability management through regular updates and continuous monitoring, and redundancy to counteract DoS attacks.
- Adopting multi-cloud networking for GenAI model optimisation: GenAI processing can be resource intensive, optimising GenAI models for improved performance and efficiency is an important step toward making models faster, more scalable, and energy efficient. Multi-cloud environments have become the foundation for AI-powered applications because of their ability to connect AI workloads and ecosystem plugins across distributed environments. Multi-cloud networking (MCN) provides the flexibility to dynamically scale resources up or down based on the computational demands of generative AI workloads, including hardware accelerators like GPUs, with resources from different cloud providers integrated into data processing to optimise performance and minimise delays.
- Implementing compliance and ethical guidelines: Businesses must incorporate compliance and ethical guidelines to ensure that GenAI models adhere to industry regulations and ethical standards. This includes data privacy, bias mitigation, and transparent AI practices.
- Investing in talent and training: Businesses must ensure that not only they adopt technologies to make their IT infrastructure GenAI-ready, but also invest in talent acquisition and training programs.
