Enterprise Cloud leader, Nutanix has maintained its HCI software leadership in India for the sixth consecutive quarter according to International Data Corporation, IDC.
The IDC WW Quarterly Converged Systems Tracker, 2019Q1, ranked Nutanix top Software HCI vendor with a 43.3 percent share of Hyperconverged Systems Based on Owner of HCI Software in India in 2019Q1. This marks the sixth straight quarter where Nutanix has held the leadership position. Over the past 18 months, Nutanix has consistently returned a market share of 40 percent or above, demonstrating the resiliency of the enterprise cloud leader.
“The IDC Tracker results send a very clear message: India is embracing hybrid cloud to build its future digital economy and is trusting Nutanix to help do it.” said Balakrishnan Anantharaman, Vice President and Managing Director of Sales for India and SAARC, Nutanix. “The IDC data confirms that unrivalled commitment to customers and customer service drives success, and while delighted with the acknowledgement, we won’t be taking it for granted. We know that to maintain excellence and leadership is a long-term commitment, so we remain focused on what we do best – customer obsession and technological innovation.”
Hyperconverged Infrastructure remains a key driver of worldwide converged systems market growth. This is due to increasing capability of HCI solutions to operate business-critical workloads while reducing datacenter complexity and promoting affordability. It is expected the segment will continue to expand its share of the overall market.
It’s no surprise that India’s dynamic economy is opting for HCI: traditional three-tier infrastructure continues to struggle with modern technologies and applications and is increasingly more burden than benefit as the country modernises.
HCI, meanwhile, was designed for the cloud. As hybrid and multi cloud environments continue to expand, ensuring a simple, modern, software-driven infrastructure to facilitate creativity, innovation and efficiency is becoming fundamental for businesses of all sizes in India.
The Nutanix success is part of a continuing expansion in India and follows the recent signing of Balakrishnan as Vice President and Managing Director of Sales for India and SAARC, the appointment of Ritesh Syal as Head of Channel Sales for India, and an expansion of its engineering and support operations.
