Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a raft of new service updates to help customers in Asia Pacific deploy machine learning at scale, build digital twins quickly, build full-stack applications, and bring cloud closer to their end-users.
- AWS IoT TwinMaker now Generally Available – AWS IoT TwinMaker is now Generally Available. With the ability to use existing data from multiple sources, create virtual representations of any physical environment, and combine existing 3D models with real-world data, customers can now harness digital twins to create a holistic view of their operations faster and with less effort.
- AWS Amplify Studio now Generally Available – Launched in 2017, AWS Amplify is a set of purpose-built tools and features that enable front-end web developers to build full-stack applications more easily on AWS. Today, AWS announced AWS Amplify Studio, a new visual development environment that lets developers easily build and ship complete web applications in hours instead of weeks, is Generally Available. With Amplify Studio, customers can quickly build an app backend, create rich user interface (UI) components, and connect a UI to the backend with minimal coding.
- Amazon Aurora Serverless V2 now Generally Available – A new version of Amazon Aurora Serverless automatically that scales database workloads to hundreds of thousands of transactions in a fraction of a second to support even the most demanding applications.
- Amazon SageMaker Serverless Inference now Generally Available– Amazon SageMaker Serverless Inference is a new inference option that enables customers to easily deploy ML models for inference without having to configure or manage the underlying infrastructure. Amazon SageMaker Serverless Inference is designed for customers who run applications with intermittent or unpredictable traffic, and need to forecast traffic demand upfront.
- Amazon Textract Queries – Amazon Textract is an ML service that automatically extracts text, handwriting, and data from scanned documents. Today, AWS launched Queries, a new feature of Amazon Textract that uses ML to pull out important data from written documents, such date of birth from tax returns.
- AWS Local Zone Expansion in Asia Pacific – AWS plans to launch 10 AWS Local Zones in Asia Pacific over the next two years, including: Australia (Brisbane and Perth), India (Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, and Kolkata), New Zealand (Auckland), the Philippines (Manilla), Thailand (Bangkok), and Vietnam (Hanoi). AWS Local Zones are a type of infrastructure deployment that places AWS compute, storage, database, and other services closer to customers – enabling them to build and deploy applications that require single-digit millisecond latency closer to end users or on-premises data centers. The very-low latency access that AWS Local Zones provide supports customers with applications such as remote real-time gaming, media and entertainment content creation, live video streaming, engineering simulations, augmented and virtual reality, and more.
